Aquariums & fish tanks are a beautiful addition to any home. These beautiful additions provide the perfect habitat for exotic or even common species of fish. An aquarium is simply a tank of some size with at least one side where live aquatic organisms or plants are housed and exhibited. Most commonly used fish tanks and aquariums are those that house aquarium fish, since most fish can survive in a well maintained aquarium. Some, however, do require more than just water and lighting, some require specialized water filtration or chemical treatments, while others may need more in the way of supplies.

Fish tanks can range in price from several hundred dollars for simple plastic models to several thousand for custom made hard-ware models such as reef tanks or saltwater aquariums. Keeping fish has always been a popular hobby and with the vast selection available in both pet stores and online retailers, there are an almost infinite variety of fish and aquariums to choose from. The most popular species are generally found in freshwater aquariums or planted tanks. Aquariums & fish tanks come in a variety of shapes, colors, materials and sizes. The most basic aquariums & fish tanks are usually rectangular or shaped like a football.

Hard-ware aquariums are generally rectangular and can be made of acrylic, wood, stone, glass, fiberglass, or polycarbonate. This type of aquarium generally does not have a filter system, since hard-ware tends to be very sturdy. For freshwater aquariums, hard-ware is often referred to as coral tanks. The tank can also be made out of a wide range of materials including metal, stone, glass, ceramic, wood, fiberglass, resin, plastics, etc.

While hard-ware aquariums do require more maintenance than soft-ware aquariums, they are often considered to be more aesthetically pleasing. The material of choice for aquariums tends to be stones or resin, although there are some exceptions. Resin aquariums generally require less care than other types of aquariums, but should be checked regularly for deterioration. Stones generally require thi cong ho ca rong gia re more care because they are porous and need to be frequently cleaned to prevent algae buildup. They also give off a stench when touched, so they should be stored away from children.

Ceramic aquariums are popular for home aquariums, because they require virtually no maintenance and can be left virtually unmaintained for years. These aquariums give off a nice sheen and can come in many colors and designs. Wood aquariums make an attractive addition to any home because of their natural beauty. They do require quite a bit more maintenance than the other types of aquariums and will tend to break down more frequently, so they may not be the right aquariums for everyone.

Whatever type of aquarium you choose, you have several options. Glass aquariums are popular, because they give off a beautiful glow, but require a lot of cleaning and may not be the best choice for people with allergies. If you decide to get an aquarium, whether a fish tank or a hardscaping aquarium, you should get one that will fit your lifestyle. You will not want to spend a lot of money on an aquarium that you will not use.
