This film is based on the true story of Brian Banks, who had been a high school football star convicted of raping a woman in 2002. He consistently maintained his innocence, but was incarcerated nonetheless. After enlisting the aid of the California Innocence Project flixtor movies, his conviction was finally overturned ten years later, and he was found to be innocent of all charges. Aldis Hodge stars since the movie’s namesake and provides a great performance helping to make this story very believable and very heart-warming.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold
The beloved animated children’s series finally causes it to be to the silver screen as a live-action film that provides a lot of entertainment and remains true to the initial television series. Isabela Moner stars as Dora, with parents Eva Longoria and Michael Pena, and a plan centering on Dora’s navigation through high school rather than the jungle. Quickly enough though, Dora is obliged to return to the jungle to rescue her parents, and to become involved with finding a lost Incan civilization.
What You Gonna do Once the World’s on Fire?
Documentary film maker Robero Minervini has a close look at life in Louisiana, from the viewpoint of two half-brothers who live there, and have vastly different lives. He skillfully weaves in story lines concerning the Mardi Gras, a notorious bar owner, and the newest Black Panther Party. Altogether, these stories give you a picture of racial tensions in the city, in addition to a sketch about how times are changing in New Orleans and the state.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette?
Cate Blanchett plays the role of a female in Seattle who goes missing, and a lot of the ensuing story revolves around efforts to uncover clues in accordance with her disappearance. Told through some emails, texts, FBI documents, letters, and even correspondence with a psychiatrist, this is one particular movies in theaters which adopts a totally different method of story-telling. Compelling and well-acted, the movie is really worth the buying price of admission.
